Q & A: Summer dress in the winter

Question: I have this light blue frilly dress from the summer that I love, can I still wear it now that it's getting cold?

Answer: Yes, all you need to winterize your dress are a few key pieces; start with black tights (want to add extra pop? go for lace), layer over an of-the-moment leather jacket and then ground the look by finishing with a pair of boots. We are mad about over-the-knee but if you're more of an ankle boot girl opt for a pair with a closed toe and edgy details.

Q & A: Casual boots with a heel?

Question: I'm looking for a pair of boots to wear during the day, running errands etc. but I'm short and always like to have a heel- have any suggestions?

Answer: While we always admire a woman shopping in stilettos, it can look a tad high maintenance-y. But luckily for us, we have tons casual and completely daywear appropriate heels. To avoid looking like you are trying too hard, we recommend selecting a boot in a more relaxed material such as suede. Be sure the details are subtle or have an effortless vibe; avoid anything too elaborate or ornate. As far as the heel goes, opt for a block or cone shape, anything too skinny looks dressy.

Q & A: Must-have for fall

Question: What is the one must-have shoe for fall?

Answer: Must-have? Try must-haves! There are sooo many absolutely amazing trends and styles for fall we couldn't possibly limit our selection to just one! For starters, we will admit we have a bad attitude this fall- our inner tough girl is in full effect. She's into anything with an edge. The color scheme is black; leather is key and the more chains, buckles and studs the better! When it comes to boots we are going crazy for over the knee. These completely on-trend styles are so fresh and fortunately for us, they range for relaxed and casual to ultra-sexy, so we can get our OTK fix day or night! That's not to say we don't love our shorties! Ankle boots, specifically peep-toe ankle boots are our go-to pick for girl's night out. Wear them now with super short dresses and later with tights and leggings. But let's face it, we aren't always attending a fabulous party or going to a high-end club. Sometimes we are just running errands, going to the movies or walking to class. When it comes to our less glamorous occasions, we heart anything with a western flavor. We'll wear these boots with everything- dresses, leggings and jeans. Last but certainly not least, we must acknowledge one of fall's hottest materials, from peep-toe pumps, ankle, flat and over the knee boots, suede is all the rage. With so many incredible trends and standout styles we recommend cleaning out your closets- you're going to need the room...

Q & A: Shoes for Walking to Class

Question: I start school next week and walk to class everyday. Have any recommendations for comfy yet stylish shoes?

Answer: Can you believe summer is almost over? We know you are enjoying the last little bit you have left but soon enough it'll be time to hit the books. Days lounging by the pool will be replaced with econ, stat and history classes. Your summer uniform (swimsuit and flip flops) will be replaced with class appropriate casual wear and shoes. But thankfully comfy and casual does NOT equal frumpy. This semester you can stroll to class, the library and group meetings in totally functional yet completely on-trend flat or western-inspired boots. And with so many fresh details, interesting materials and different options, we promise trendsetting college students will have not one or two but several pairs of these of-the-moment boots in their closets. Not to mention they are perfect for tailgating! See, there's always a silver lining...

Q & A: Transitional Shoes

Question: I'm soo over my summer going out dresses but I'm not quite ready to buy my fall wardrobe. Are there any shoes that can transition my summer dresses into fall?

Answer: We are definitely on the same page! We are of course still enjoying spending our weekend days lounging by the pool but find ourselves spending (what seems like hours) of our Saturday evening strumming through our closets searching for a new way to interpret our dresses for going out. But fortunately there is a way to inject new life into your summer-y dresses! Pair them with sassy and edgy ankle boots (many trendsetting celebs have been doing this all summer). They give your look instant attitude and toughen up your girly numbers. And you can sport them all fall and winter- talk about a Plus!!

Q & A: Boots Now?

Question: I'm seeing boots everywhere already but is it too early to wear them?

Answer: Absolutely NOT! In fact trendsetters and stylish celebs have been spotted wearing boots all summer! We especially love the music-festival, boho-chic take on the trend. To get the look simply pair flat or western-inspired boots with effortlessly-casual print dresses, skirts, relaxed rompers or destroyed denim shorts. Finish it off with a gold cuff and a fringe bag. And unlike your sandals- boots will live on beyond the end of summer. To wear them later pair them with tights and leggings. Gotta love longevity!

We absolutely adore this suede pump! We love how the snake trim and sky high double platform give it a sexy finish but the silhouette is completely classic. Perfect for cocktails or work!
